It seems like for every thing there's an application- app. In case you were wondering- apps. act like short cuts to websites, and are downloaded as small cube-like images on smart phones. Essentially, having an app. on your mobile device, means having information at your fingertips, which saves the time and energy that you would have otherwise used to look for that information elsewhere.
Want to know what train to take and how long your trip will last, there's an app. for that- HopStop. Want to purchase a house or rent an apartment, there's an app. for that- Trulia. Better yet, want a faster way to check your Facebook account, naturally there's an app. for that too.
I love apps.! Sometimes I worry that I will run out of space and won't be able to add any more. My IPhone screen features Skype,Rick Dees, Yahoo Messenger, Living Social, Groupon Pandora and Linkedin apps. just to name a few.
So imagine my delight when I found out that this year, an app. was created for the Macy's Day Parade! I'm not a big fan of crowds, so I might never attend that parade, but I thought it was really cool that there is finally an app. for such a historic event. Other events, namely the Rockerfeller Christmas Tree Lighting, The Christmas Spectacular, featuring the Rockettes and the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball drop had better take notes here.
Among some of the neat features of the Macy's Day Parade app. were information about parade lineup,a route map, a participant tracker and an exclusive digital copy of the Line of March. Go Macy's! This show's that you're a forward thinker and embracing new media to enhance the experience of parade goers.
